Late Sh. Karam Chand Bhardwaj was a well-educated M.A Economics (Hons.) personality who served the Government of India as Dy. Director Cabinet Sectt. and in other capacities. Apart from his military service, he was an active RWA social worker. Following his retirement, he joined CSR-Competition Success Review magazine as Sr. Editor. While forming an NGO in 2008, he was the driving force behind the acronym PANKH, which stands for Patriotic Alliance for Nurturing the Knowledge Hub. It was Late ShBhardwaj's idea to include Senior Citizens on the Board of Directors of an NGO because Senior Citizens have vast experience in handling family matters, so parents and families in slum areas can get proper guidance on how to handle their children and keep them away from the crime field, in order to raise good citizens.

Late Sh K C Bhardwaj received full support and active assistance from Sh. Brij Mohan Lal Bhatia in his journey to form an NGO. Sh. B M L Bhatia, Retd.fromNorthen Railways, Govt. of India services, was instrumental in developing the MOU, guidelines, formalities, and paper work, among other things. In fact, it was Sh. Bhatia's idea and suggestion to Sh. Bhardwaj to take over the presidency of the NGO.

Sh. Brij Mohan Lal Bhatia also joined PANKH ngo as a founding Treasurer and worked hard to raise funds for the organization's various activities. It is also worth noting that the ngo was registered on February 18, 2008, with the blessings of the Almighty, and that the date of birth of Sh. Brij Mohan Lal Bhatia is also February 18, 1942.

As a result, both the Bhatia and Bhardwaj families have believed since the beginning that the PANKH NGO was formed by the blessings of Almighty for a noble cause, and that everyone must give their all.

So from the First year onwards 18th February day become the double celebration day as PANKH Anniversary and birthday of Sh. Brij Mohan Lal Bhatia.
